Job Description:
My client, a top international investment bank, is growing in Asia and seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join them in Hong Kong. In this role, you will develop a stable and automated environment, engage in simulations and testing of trading systems, and collaborate with various teams to ensure high reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Interact with senior FO Trading and Sales stakeholders to understand requirements and actively participate in product enhancement discussions.
- Automate processes to establish a reliability-focused trading environment, ensuring minimal downtime and high system performance.
- Conduct comprehensive simulations and rigorous testing of trading systems to identify potential issues and validate functionality.
- Collaborate with development teams to analyze technical challenges, draft specifications, and participate in architectural discussions and code reviews.
- Diagnose and resolve bugs identified during system and UAT testing, striving to enhance overall application performance.
Qualifications

Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

3+ years of hands-on experience in a production support role within equity derivatives, such as options and futures, in an investment banking context.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Shell, Perl, or Java, with experience in unit testing practices and automation scripting.

Familiarity with Linux and Windows environments, as well as Oracle PL/SQL and Autosys for job scheduling.

Strong understanding of DevOps; ideally, experience with GitHub and some understanding of containerization.
