Application Support Analyst | Energy Trading Operations

About this role

About the Role The Application Support Analyst is responsible for taking ownership of issues and providing procedural and technical support to various teams and internal/external stakeholders. You will drive the resolution of day-to-day issues and outages, collaborating with the infrastructure team, the service desk and the wider IT group. You will work with business stakeholders and engineering teams to identify, design, and deliver features that strengthen cross‑selling capabilities and improve operational efficiency across Marex's energy trading operations. What You'll Do

  • Provide second- and third-line support to business users for front office and post-trade applications, including trade capture, market data, settlement and clearing systems, and related client applications.
  • Use scripting languages (PowerShell, Python) to automate tasks and improve processes.
  • Manage new system analysis and implementation projects.
  • Provide incident management per ITIL standards.
  • Liaise between technology and business groups to communicate system changes.
  • Maintain process and trading system documentation to a high standard.
  • Ensure active tasks stay focused through workflow prioritisation.
  • Manage vendor system upgrades and implementations.
  • Manage technical client onboarding.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements.
  • Complete exchange reporting and compliance audits.
  • Adhere to FCA regulatory requirements and the firm's risk framework; escalate risk events as required. What We're Looking For
  • Solid background in Windows, Linux/Unix OS, and experience with SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB or Oracle.
  • Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and VBA.
  • Ability to work under demanding conditions with a calm demeanour.
  • Experience in a Financial Services environment, ideally in Energy markets and trading technology.
  • Experience with ITIL.
  • A proactive, process-driven team player who can work in a changing environment. Nice to Have
  • Experience with Trayport and Equias systems is desirable but not required. Compensation & Benefits
