About the Role
As an Application Engineer at Tyler Technologies, you will collaborate with developers and analysts to design and develop mission-critical business applications. You will apply full lifecycle Java development, a deep understanding of JavaScript, and strong SQL skills to deliver high-quality software for versa applications. This role is based in Herndon, VA with remote/hybrid options.
What You'll Do

Work as part of a fast-paced team to perform object-oriented application development using Java as the foundation

Analyze functional requirements and troubleshoot application code issues using Java IDE and related tools

Collaborate with developers and QA to create fixes and enhancements to versa applications

Deliver high-quality software that delights customers

Communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and provide efficient technical solutions

Write technical documentation per Tyler Technologies, Application Platform Division and Regulatory Business Unit standards and methodologies

What We're Looking For

Experience programming in SQL, Java, and JavaScript

Web Application and Relational Database (SQL Server, Oracle) experience (functional understanding of database structure)

Understanding of J2EE Architecture (JBoss, Apache, Tomcat, etc.) and deployment procedures

Analytical Skills (ability to digest requirements and produce design)

The ability for Testing/Quality Control

Write custom JSP pages and answer technical questions from customers, write corresponding technical documentation

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Prior experience with workflow or data transaction solutions preferred

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: USD 66,585 - 110,000 per year before geographic adjustments (incentive eligibility to be confirmed by recruiter)
