About the Role Autoliv Queretaro Technical Center is seeking an Application Engineer to develop and validate driver airbag and steering wheel systems. This role leads and supports a broad range of project activities across the technical phases of awarded programs, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional teams, OEMs, manufacturing facilities, and suppliers.
What You'll Do
- Create / validate product design for steering wheel and driver airbag.
- Work with the customer to negotiate styling vs. Autoliv standard design/processes.
- Validate and launch global programs locally with global team members.
- Balance manufacturability with customer needs.
- Understand customer specifications and ensure product is designed/validated accordingly.
- Drive the design to meet 1P1P expectations.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience in steering wheels, driver airbags, automotive interior class A component design, product design, CAE.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
- Design / CAD; perform tolerance stack; apply GD&T on drawings.
- Ability to understand manufacturing needs (die cast, RIM, injection molding, stamping, assembly).
- Interpreting CAE results.
