Application Development & Tech Service Engineer

About the Role Technical service and application development activities in Asia, focusing on painting protection film (PPF) and TPU customers. You will provide technical support, problem solving, product recommendations, and lead development opportunities in collaboration with the PPF team to deliver projects on schedule. What You'll Do

• Fulfil day-to-day technical service operations including customer visits, on-site troubleshooting, and sales project support.
• Lead regional PPMP projects as technical leader, monitor milestones and report progress in a timely and effective manner.
• Build strong customer relationships through problem-solving, product recommendations, and project development execution with deep technical cooperation with OEMs and processors.
• Conduct technical work requests: design experiments, perform lab bench work, analyze results, and write reports to meet technical targets of customer projects.
• Develop related application processing skills and knowledge, train customers’ technicians in the lab, and provide technical service/troubleshooting in the field for PPF and other TPU applications, including material technology and process guidance.
• Collaborate with the commercial team and customers to explore new application development opportunities, feasibility studies, and project implementation.
• Plan and prioritize projects and manage execution in line with PPF/TPU project guidelines, ensuring objectives, deliverables, and milestones are met within budget and schedule.
• Develop customized test protocols and simulation capabilities and create the application database.
• Deliver technical presentations to customers and commercial partners; stay updated with the latest technology developments.
• Maintain communication with Lubrizol technical community and ensure knowledge transfer to other regions.
• Support requirements with other technical personnel in the region. What We're Looking For
• Master’s Degree or above in chemistry and polymer or related field.
• Deep understanding of marketing concepts and ability to translate customer application requirements into material requirements.
• Extrusion processing technology and molding technology will be preferred.
• Master with minimum of 5 years or Doctor with minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Preferably deep understanding of film applications.
• In-depth understanding of polymer structure–processing–property relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; innovative, creative, and agile to think outside the box and generate novel technical approaches.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal & written communication, presentation, and listening skills; ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences (internal & external), strongly influence and convince team members to make right decisions together.
• Highly motivated towards goals and objectives.
• Excellent organization and planning skills; multi-tasking.
• Fluency in oral and written English and good presentation skills.
