Overview
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) is a leading research organisation addressing hunger, malnutrition, and poverty through research for development in tropical countries. IITA is seeking an Application Developer to develop, maintain, and support its RFU application.
Responsibilities
- • Design, develop, and implement new features and enhancements for the RFU application using C# and .NET Framework.
- • Test new features to ensure quality and functionality before deployment.
- • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues to maintain system stability and performance.
- • Develop and maintain technical and user documentation.
- • Train and support users in the effective use of the application.
- • Serve as the first point of contact for RFU users and resolve application-related issues promptly.
- • Apply software development, security, coding, and version control best practices.
- • Gather user requirements and support integration with relevant systems.
- • Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements
- • BSc, HND, or Bachelors in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in a well-structured organisation.
- • Strong proficiency in C#, .NET Framework, application development, maintenance, and system integration.
- • Practical experience in web application development, database design, management, and integration.
- • Knowledge of user interface and user experience design principles.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently.
- • Good interpersonal, teamwork, written, and verbal communication skills.
