API Test Automation Engineer
Allied Testing is a leading specialist QA and testing international firm with focus on the finance industry.
We are looking to hire a Test automation engineer to work on an outsourcing project for a client. Both junior and senior level candidates will be considered.
The job will require working in a distributed international environment with both local and remote teams. Successful candidates will have to communicate in English with other team members and management on a daily basis.
Requirements
- Experience in backend and REST API automation testing
- Strong knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming
- Hands-on experience with REST Assured and API automation frameworks
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, headers, authentication, JSON, and XML
- Experience using modern AI tools, such as Claude Code, to accelerate test automation
- Experience with JUnit or TestNG
- Experience validating backend data using SQL
- Familiarity with Git version control
- Understanding of CI/CD tools and pipelines, such as Jenkins
- Familiarity with Maven and dependency/build management
- Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, negative, and end-to-end testing
- Ability to troubleshoot API failures using logs and debugging
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and defect tracking tools
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to understand technical requirements with complex logic
- Experience with UI test automation, and using tools such as Playwright is a plus
- Experience in the financial industry is a plus
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is a plus
