AP Specialist
A well-established organization in the Northern Peninsula is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to support the accounting team during a critical project and coverage period. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented AP professional who thrives in a high-volume environment and has experience processing purchase order-based invoices.
Experience within a public sector, government, or nonprofit organization is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Process and code a high volume of accounts payable invoices, averaging 100+ invoices per week
- Perform 3-way matching of invoices, purchase orders, and receiving documentation
- Review invoices for accuracy, proper approvals, and coding
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor payment issues
- Maintain vendor records and assist with vendor communications
- Ensure timely and accurate payment processing
- Reconcile AP transactions and support month-end close activities
- Assist with audit requests and documentation as needed
- Follow established internal controls, policies, and procedures
Qualifications

3+ years of recent Accounts Payable experience

Demonstrated experience processing 100+ invoices weekly

Strong experience working with purchase orders and PO-based invoicing

Knowledge of full-cycle accounts payable processes

Experience with ERP or accounting systems

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
