Job title: Animal Technician
About the Role The Animal Technician performs animal husbandry duties in conventional, immunodeficient, and transgenic/knockout rodent colonies. The role also involves maintaining animal rooms, monitoring rodent colonies, and carrying out technical duties such as medical treatments of rodents with minor injuries, implementing emergency separations, and euthanasia when needed.
What You'll Do
- Perform animal husbandry duties in conventional, immunodeficient, and transgenic/knockout rodent colonies.
- Maintain animal rooms and monitor rodent colonies to ensure proper husbandry and welfare.
- Carry out technical duties including medical treatments for rodents with minor injuries, emergency separations, and euthanasia as required.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with rodent colonies and basic animal care in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to perform medical treatments of rodents with minor injuries and to execute emergency separations and euthanasia as needed.
- Willingness to work onsite at 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $43,000 - $46,800 per year
