About the Role This is a part-time public safety position that enforces animal control ordinances and supports shelter operations under police supervision. The role involves patrolling for stray animals, responding to complaints, and coordinating humane care and control of animals.
What You'll Do
- Patrol streets to locate stray animals; capture and transport them to the animal shelter.
- Respond to complaints concerning animal problems or violations of animal control ordinances, including animals running at large, bites, property damage, or injuries.
- Remove dead, injured or dangerous animals from streets and residential premises.
- Care for, feed and house animals at the animal shelter; provide maintenance and upkeep for the animal shelter.
