About this role The Anesthesia Team Leader is someone who can fulfil the anesthesia assistant role on a long-term basis. You will work closely with the Anesthesia Supervisor to provide stability in a rapid turnover and small department. You will orientate new volunteers to the anesthesia department and be a resource to new anesthesia assistants.
What you will contribute
- Fulfil responsibilities of an anesthesia assistant and provide direct medical care on a daily basis.
- You will have additional responsibilities of coordinating consumables and equipment with medical supply and the biomedical department.
- Maintain a culture of patient safety
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong administrative skills
For This Role, You Will Need
- Successful completion of Mercy Ships On Boarding program
- Mercy Ships Alumni strongly preferred, but will consider qualified non-alumni candidates
- Current, active license as anesthetic nurse, ODP, nurse anesthetist or equivalent
- Minimum of three years of Anesthesia experience
- Current Basic Life Support certification is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support are optional
- Written and verbal fluency in English
- Flexibility and sensitivity to language and cultural diversity
