About the Role ExxonMobil seeks an experienced analyzer engineer to provide analyzer expertise to support Operation & Maintenance teams, driving reliability improvements and long-term equipment performance. The role sits within ExxonMobil Services and Technology Private Limited, Whitefield, Bengaluru, India, and involves collaborating across asset development and operations to enable safe, compliant and efficient processes.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and manage equipment strategies in line with safety and reliability practices.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to support asset operations.
  • Provide expertise for field and online analyzer applications (chromatographic, spectroscopic, electrochemical), physical property analyzers, combustibles and toxic gas detectors to meet safety, environmental, regulatory and process control requirements.
  • Monitor analyzer performance data, apply statistical tools, and drive improvements with quantifiable impact (scorecards).
  • Lead or support incident investigations and root-cause analysis; inform risk-based work selection.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve bad actors; stay current with industry standards (ASTM, ISA, ISO, IEC) and deploy cost-effective new technologies.
  • Provide design and engineering management support to greenfield and brownfield projects; develop design specifications, perform analyzer calculations, and assist with cost estimation; oversee contractor/vendor deliverables.
  • Participate in risk assessments (HAZOP/HAZID); develop inspection & test plans; support factory and site acceptance tests for new analyzer systems.
  • Advise on analyzer testing, commissioning and start-up; ensure cybersecurity best practices; design and specify online analyzers and shelters for oil & gas, petrochemical or refining facilities.
  • Support lifecycle management to monitor obsolescence and plan replacement; provide analyzer training to site personnel.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor of Engineering in Instrumentation and Controls, Electronics, or Chemical from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting Online Process Analyzers in oil & gas, refining or petrochemical industries.
  • Experience of international projects in multi-national companies (MNC), WOFE or JV is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of measurement principles and infrastructure elements for common process analyzers.
  • Experience in analytical chemistry techniques (Gas Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Infrared & Ultraviolet Spectroscopy) and Physical Property Analyzers and Gas Detectors.
  • Knowledge of analyzer communication/protocols and networking for interface to Distributed Control Systems (DCS).
  • Familiarity with field and online analyzers from vendors such as Siemens, Yokogawa, ABB, Emerson, etc.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, CSR, local codes; ability to work within company control and cybersecurity practices.
  • Understanding of analyzer maintenance processes (planning, scheduling, PMs, performance checks) and impact of sparing, redundancy, reliability, availability.

Nice to Have

  • Experience of international projects in MNC/WOFE/JV is an advantage.
