About the Role Analytics Engineer (Data Platform) to join Takealot Group's Data Platform team. You will own the full lifecycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and BI reporting environments, and help design robust solutions that empower business decisions. What You'll Do
- Work closely with stakeholders, Data Engineers and BI Analysts to translate data into actionable insights for decisions.
- Own full lifecycle development, implementation, production support, and performance tuning of the Enterprise Data Warehouse, Data Marts, and BI Reporting environments.
- Design and implement reporting and analytical solutions; translate business and functional requirements into robust, scalable operable solutions.
- Maintain and evolve our Kappa & Lambda event-driven architecture built on BigQuery, Dataform and Looker.
- Ensure data pipelines and support infrastructure run efficiently; provide operational support, bug fixes, and performance enhancements.
- Automate data extraction and report update processes; data validation and integrity testing; data cleansing and multidimensional data modeling; optimize data models. What We're Looking For

- Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering with minimum 3 years experience; or equivalent experience of 6 years if no degree.
- 4 – 6 years related experience; 1 – 2 years coding in Python and JavaScript (advantageous).
- Minimum 2 years' experience using BI reporting tools (QlikView, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Looker, etc.).
- Minimum 4 years SQL experience.
- Strong fundamentals: Linux, operating systems, networking; experience with Looker, BigQuery and Dataform advantageous.
- OLAP and multidimensional cube design experience; CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions).
- Experience with Google Cloud or other cloud providers; large data sets and business models.
- Domain Driven Design (DDD) advantageous; Scrum/Agile experience advantageous.
- Retail or e-commerce industry experience beneficial. Nice to Have
- Google Cloud / cloud environment experience; Looker, BigQuery, Dataform familiarity.
- CI/CD and workflow tooling; GitHub Actions, Jenkins.
- Experience with DDD and modern data modeling approaches.
