Analyst

About the Role The Analyst will be a core member of Mizuho's Financial Sponsors & Strategic Solutions Group within Investment & Corporate Banking, focusing on leveraged finance, bespoke strategic solutions, and sponsor coverage. The role involves executing complex transactions, building financial models, and delivering tailored client solutions across product areas. What You'll Do

• Lead the execution of leveraged finance transactions and bespoke strategic solutions for Sponsor clients
• Build and analyze detailed financial models and perform valuation (DCF and multiples)
• Manage due diligence, credit underwriting, and financing structuring
• Conduct fundamental credit analyses and research
• Assist in running sell-side processes and assessing M&A transactions
• Collaborate with product specialists across debt capital markets, derivatives, advisory and structured solutions
• Prepare materials and participate in deal pitches with product and sector teams
• Conduct industry and product research What We're Looking For
• Bachelor Degree in Finance or Economics with a minimum of 1 year of investment banking experience at a top-tier global bank
• Prior credit training, structured credit and/or leveraged finance experience preferred
• M&A experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and in a team; able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; manage multiple projects
• Strong quantitative, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills; ability to convey ideas clearly
• Advanced proficiency with CapitalIQ, Bloomberg and Microsoft Office
• Personal traits: initiative, motivation, attention to detail, composure, ability to handle conflicting priorities; results-driven and a team player Nice to Have
• Mergers & Acquisitions experience
• Exposure to debt capital markets, derivatives, advisory and structured solutions Compensation & Benefits
