About this role

About the Role BlackRock China Fund Management Corporation (FMC) is expanding in China and seeking an Analyst, Equity and Multi-Asset Researcher (with a tilt toward equity pricing). The role will produce investment research, support the investment process, and cover pricing analysis of pre-IPO stocks, maintain stock pools, and drive product-specific investment allocations. The position will report to the CIO of Equity, MASS and Indexing at China FMC and may progress toward a ranked researcher or junior portfolio manager after several years.

What You'll Do

  • Track and update IPO deals and relevant data; write stock pricing reports; conduct financial analysis; build valuation models; provide pre-IPO pricing and support product-specific allocations.
  • Monitor markets, macro factors and policy developments; perform macro and cross-asset research; automate data collection and analytics to produce regular reports.
  • Collaborate with Risk Analytics (RQA) and IT to understand risk analytics infrastructure; produce risk decomposition and performance attribution reports.
  • Produce ad-hoc due diligence reports on issuers to maintain security pools using quantitative insights and discretionary judgments; develop quantitative signals for secondary market pricing; write research on signals and models.
  • Automate signal generation for live-money products after rigorous research approval; report to the CIO and work with local/global teams (investments, trading, RQA, ops, tech, L&C).
  • Independently carry out product-driven research projects under supervision, including pricing stocks, producing new signals, and writing research documentation.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in equity research or portfolio management across multiple asset classes; past experience in fundamental equity pricing in ECM or IPO pricing in asset management preferred.
  • Strong process-driven mindset; global markets experience is a plus; experience with equity IPOs in onshore China markets is a strong plus.
  • Excellent numeric ability with attention to detail; strong communication with local and global teams; ability to synthesize work into research reports and process documentation.
  • Self-driven and hardworking; able to manage multiple work streams; able to perform under stressful market conditions; comfortable with long hours.
  • Proficiency in Excel and WIND; Python coding is a strong plus; CFA, CIPM and related professional qualifications preferred; advanced degrees preferred.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with onshore China IPOs; CFA/CIPM credentials; strong Python skills; familiarity with risk analytics platforms and live-money product workflows.
