American Girl Seasonal Housekeeper: First Shift

The Opportunity

American Girl is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Seasonal Housekeeper to support our peak business season from October through December at our DeForest Distribution Center. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment throughout the facility, including office spaces, common areas, restrooms, breakrooms, and warehouse work areas.

This is a temporary seasonal position expected to begin in November and conclude in late December based on business needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; however, hours may extend beyond the regular shift, and occasional weekend work may be required to support operational demands during the peak season.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning assignments. Maintain all types of flooring and stairways through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and other floor care activities. Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, fixtures, and dispensers. Clean and maintain common areas, office spaces, warehouse work areas, and other facility locations as assigned. Clean and maintain breakrooms and kitchenettes, including refrigerators, microwaves, countertops, tables, and other shared amenities. Remove and properly dispose of trash, recycling, and debris throughout the facility. Perform carpet cleaning and spot-cleaning as needed. Complete routine facility maintenance tasks as assigned. Maintain the cleanliness and organization of custodial closets, storage areas, and housekeeping supplies. Inspect and maintain cleaning equipment to ensure proper working condition. Assist with grounds maintenance activities as needed. Adjust cleaning routes and priorities based on operational needs and seasonal demands. Follow all company policies and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment for employees and visitors.

• Required Qualifications

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks throughout the workday. Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Ability to make sound decisions and prioritize work with minimal supervision. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following established safety practices.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping, custodial, janitorial, or facility maintenance experience preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus but are not required.
