• We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity to join our Ground Services team in Lagos, Nigeria (LOS) as an Airport Services Duty Officer.

• In this role, you will be responsible for the overall control of shift operations, monitoring airport activities, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the safe, secure, and punctual operation of all Qatar Airways flights.

• You will play a key role in delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining operational excellence and compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day airport operations and act as the primary liaison between airport service providers, authorities, and operational users.
• Monitor and coordinate all operational activities during assigned shifts to ensure smooth and efficient flight operations.
• Ensure passenger and aircraft handling activities are conducted in accordance with company safety, security, and service standards.
• Manage and optimize manpower allocation while maintaining team morale, productivity, and discipline.
• Conduct regular operational and service quality spot checks to ensure standards are consistently maintained.
• Resolve customer issues and complaints effectively, working closely with Customer Relations and relevant stakeholders.
• Lead and conduct shift briefings with supervisors and operational teams.
• Prepare and submit detailed shift and station handling reports to management.
• Manage petty cash expenditure in accordance with established financial procedures and maintain accurate records.
• Compile monthly operational statistics and reports.
• Delegate responsibilities to team members and provide support to ensure operational continuity.
• Perform Aircraft Turnaround Checks as assigned, ensuring compliance with all ground handling and safety requirements.
• Operate aircraft cabin service doors externally, where applicable, in line with safety procedures to mitigate operational risks.
• Support additional departmental duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification.

• Minimum experience in airport operations, ground handling, customer service, or airline operations.

• Strong understanding of airport operational procedures, safety, and security requirements.

• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage operational teams in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent customer service and conflict resolution skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

• Experience preparing operational reports and maintaining accurate records.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

• Knowledge of airline systems and airport operations processes is an advantage.

• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and irregular hours as required by operational needs.
