About the Role The City of Dayton is seeking a dedicated Airport Police Officer to provide full law enforcement/police services at Aviation facilities. You will enforce applicable laws, FAA and TSA regulations, and support airport operations. You will perform patrols, investigate FAA/TSA/ORC violations, issue citations, make arrests, administer first aid, and assist with aircraft overdue/missing situations and tower warnings. You will also serve in central dispatching and manage airport security and access systems to ensure safe operations. What You'll Do
- Provide law enforcement services at aviation facilities, enforce TSA/FAA regulations and Ohio laws/ordinances.
- Perform foot and vehicle patrols; write detailed reports on violations; issue traffic citations and make arrests as warranted.
- Administer first aid, notify or transport individuals to hospitals as needed; assist airport operations during overdue/missing aircraft and tower alerts.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of airfield operations and applicable regulations; operate LEADS terminal, emergency notification, security, and airport access systems.
- Perform central dispatching duties including deployment of police and maintenance personnel. What We're Looking For
- Graduation from high school or GED; willingness to obtain required OPOTC training certification.
- Satisfactory completion of Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission curriculum; valid OPOTC certificate or official Letter of Completion.
- At appointment, if a peace officer after Jan 1, 1989 with a break in sworn service >1 year but
