Job title: Air Separation Plant Operator

About the Role The Plant Operator will operate the Air Separation Plant as per designated work processes, utilizing air separation / cryogenic process knowledge and experience to operate and troubleshoot the plant in a safe and efficient manner. You will be able to work in a novel team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision.

What You'll Do

• Operate and monitor the Air Separation Plant in accordance with procedures to keep the plant running safely and efficiently.
• Operate and check process equipment in the field daily, along with monitoring process conditions, equipment, and control systems.
• Manage operations across multiple plant computer control systems to ensure smooth performance.
• Troubleshoot process-related issues or deviations; perform minor repairs, improvements, and preventative maintenance on process equipment.
• Maintain clear and professional communication with contractors, visitors, customers, colleagues, and management.
• Use process knowledge to identify opportunities to improve plant performance and uphold Operating Discipline.
• Coach and train others on plant operations to support team development.

What We're Looking For

• High School Diploma or GED; completing a Power Engineer Class 4 program or equivalent is important.
• Previous experience in a continuous chemical process environment is an asset.
• Strong computer and technical skills; able to operate both manual and highly automated process equipment.
• Motivated and able to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities effectively; flexible to overtime.
• Comfortable reading and interpreting P&ID diagrams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving abilities.
• Current, valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 kilograms, climb stairs and ladders, work outdoors at heights and in various weather conditions, and work in tight or enclosed spaces; able to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
