JOB DESCRIPTION
It's more than a job
As a member of the Freight Forwarding team Kuehne+Nagel, you will play a key role in transporting goods, optimising processes, and fulfilling our customers' promises. And by transporting medicines, toys and important machine parts, you are not only delivering goods, you are making small and big moments possible for people all around the world. At Kuehne+Nagel, our contribution counts in more ways than we imagine.
Kick-start your career in global logistics through Kuehne+Nagel's Air Logistics Traineeship. This 12-month development program is designed for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a strong foundation in air freight operations. Through structured training, mentorship, and cross-functional exposure, including a rotation with our Air Logistics Operations team, you will gain hands-on experience supporting international shipments while developing the knowledge and skills needed for a successful career in logistics. The program combines practical learning, business projects, and collaboration with experienced professionals across multiple Air Logistics functions.
How you create impact
- Participate in a structured rotation across Air Logistics functions, including Pricing, Operations, Customer Solutions, and Gateway activities.
- Learn how international airfreight shipments are planned, booked, monitored, and managed from origin to destination.
- Gain experience using industry systems, digital tools, and operational reporting platforms that support customer shipments and business processes.
- Develop an understanding of airfreight pricing, quotations, transportation services, and customer requirements.
- Build knowledge of regulatory requirements, dangerous goods processes, shipment documentation, and quality standards within the logistics industry.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams while supporting operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Complete a business-related project and deliver a final presentation highlighting your learning and contributions throughout the program.
This position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
What we would like you to bring
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, International Business, Transportation, or a related field preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and an eagerness to learn new systems, technologies, and business processes.
