About the Role An AI/ML Engineer on Booz Allen's national security team will build, test, deploy, and operate end-to-end AI pipelines in secure production environments, ensuring mission systems run reliably. You will guide the development of mission-critical AI solutions by building reproducible pipelines, applying automation best practices, and introducing tools that enhance performance and reliability. You’ll collaborate with AI Model Engineers, Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, and ISSEs to align AI/ML workflows with infrastructure and security requirements and ensure seamless integration into production and mission systems.

What You'll Do

• Build, test, deploy, and operate end-to-end AI pipelines in production to support mission systems
• Design and maintain reproducible AI/ML pipelines; apply automation best practices; introduce tools to improve performance and reliability
• Collaborate with AI Model Engineers, Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, and ISSEs to align workflows with infrastructure and security requirements
• Integrate AI/ML workflows into production and mission systems across hybrid compute environments
• Optimize data flow, automate operational workflows, and implement monitoring and observability
• Help navigate evolving toolchains, deployment patterns, and operational considerations for scalable AI systems

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience with Python
• Experience developing and maintaining AI/ML pipelines for training, validation, and deployment
• Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into production systems and mission workflows
• Experience implementing monitoring and observability for model performance, resource utilization, and system health
• Knowledge of hybrid compute environments (cloud and on‑prem)
• Ability to automate workflows and build reproducible, scalable ML/AI systems
• Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams (AI Model Engineers, Data Engineers, Cloud Architects, ISSE)
• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph
• HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of software engineering or AI system development, or Bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of software engineering or AI system development

Nice To Have

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• Rust for systems‑level or high‑performance components
• Experience evaluating or adopting emerging AI/ML frameworks, libraries, or toolchains
• Containerization or orchestration technologies (Docker or Kubernetes)
• Cloud services for AI/ML (AWS or Azure)
• CI/CD for ML pipelines or infrastructure‑as‑code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
• ML or MLOps orchestration tools (Airflow, Kubeflow, MLflow)
• Distributed training, GPU optimization, or advanced model deployment patterns
• Bachelor’s degree

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $99,000.00 – $225,000.00 per year (USD)
