Job title: AI Risk & Controls Lead
About the Role AI Risk & Controls Lead is responsible for establishing and operationalising first-line-of-defence (1LOD) controls for AI across the enterprise. This role ensures AI solutions are designed, deployed, and managed in line with regulatory, risk, and audit expectations, while enabling responsible innovation at scale.
What You'll Do
- Define and implement AI governance and control frameworks aligned to enterprise risk standards, embedding 1LOD controls across the AI lifecycle (design → build → deploy → monitor)
- Oversee AI model inventory, classification, lifecycle management, and enforce governance standards with documentation, approvals, and traceability of models, datasets, and decision logic
- Maintain end-to-end AI documentation standards and ensure readiness for internal audit, regulatory inspection, and model validation; manage audit-ready evidence repositories
- Define and track AI control metrics, usage tracking, and compliance indicators; monitor adherence to policies (ethical AI, data usage, model risk); provide risk dashboards to leadership
- Act as primary 1LOD interface with 2LOD (Risk) and 3LOD (Audit); support audits, reviews, and remediation; translate regulatory expectations into practical control execution
- Advise AI delivery teams on control requirements; embed controls into AI operating model and delivery pipelines; promote awareness of responsible AI practices across teams
What We're Looking For
- Deep experience in AI governance, AI audit, and model risk management
- Proven ability in control design and operationalisation within a 1LOD context
- Expertise in AI model lifecycle management and documentation practices
- Experience with model inventories, usage tracking, and control frameworks
- Strong audit readiness and understanding of regulatory expectations
Nice to Have
- Financial services / regulated environment experience
- Understanding of AI/ML concepts (not necessarily at data scientist level)
- Regulatory landscape familiarity (EU AI Act, SR 11-7, model risk frameworks)
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: USD 137,400 - 233,600 per year
