About the Role Based in Bengaluru, India, the AI Research Scientist will be a hands-on technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art ML models powering Motorola Solutions’ mission-critical security and public safety products. You will translate research into scalable production systems and collaborate with the central AI organization to contribute to foundational models and algorithms used by downstream product teams. What You'll Do
- Conduct end-to-end research, development, and deployment of AI/ML models from concept to production and monitoring.
- Collaborate with data engineering on large-scale dataset creation, annotation, quality control, and pipeline optimization for high-quality training data.
- Optimize model performance for real-time and edge deployment, focusing on latency, throughput, and computational efficiency.
- Work on specialized AI areas: Voice AI/NLP, Computer Vision & Video Analytics, and Foundational Model Fine-Tuning for security-focused tasks.
- Partner with software engineers to integrate models into enterprise cloud and edge AI platforms with reliability and scalability.
- Establish rigorous, metric-driven evaluation frameworks (e.g., Precision, Recall, F1-Score) to benchmark models and drive continuous improvements.
- Contribute to the creation of patents in applied computer vision; stay up-to-date with the latest research, papers, and industry trends.
- Collaborate with product teams to deliver practical, production-ready solutions for edge and cloud environments. What We're Looking For
- PhD in a technical field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in applied AI research.
- Deep understanding of Transformer architectures and Vision-Language Models.
- Experience in Python programming and PyTorch. Nice to Have
- Experience in C++ programming and embedded systems.
