Job title: AI Data Scientist, OTDS – Manager (Individual Contributor)
About the Role The AI Data Scientist Manager will guide the design and delivery of next-generation AI solutions that modernize how data, knowledge, and content are created, connected, governed, and consumed across Amgen's enterprise, with a strong focus on Generative AI, agentic AI, and semantic technologies within the Operations Transformation and Digital Strategy (OTDS) effort. This role combines technical depth with product thinking to drive AI-enabled transformation initiatives in regulated environments, collaborating with business stakeholders, product teams, and technology partners.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, and scale AI-driven solutions that combine Generative AI, agentic AI, semantic data, and enterprise data platforms to create measurable business value.
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle of AI solutions—from ideation and prototyping to production deployment—while ensuring alignment with enterprise standards for Responsible AI, compliance, and data governance.
- Guide the development of intelligent systems that leverage knowledge graphs and interoperable data models using modern AI technologies.
- Work across structured and unstructured data ecosystems using platforms such as AWS, Databricks, OpenAI APIs, and AWS Bedrock to deliver scalable and compliant solutions.
- Serve as a thought leader within OTDS, helping define best practices, influence AI strategy, and foster innovation and transformation.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams, and technology partners to deliver enterprise-grade AI solutions.
What We're Looking For
- Strong technical depth with product thinking and the ability to influence at scale in a highly regulated environment.
- Experience designing, developing, and scaling AI solutions that combine Generative AI, agentic AI, semantic data, and enterprise data platforms.
- Proficiency with knowledge graphs, interoperable data models, and modern AI technologies; experience with AWS, Databricks, OpenAI APIs, and AWS Bedrock.
- Experience working across structured and unstructured data ecosystems and implementing data governance and Responsible AI considerations.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to drive transformation in a regulated industry.
