What is Redwagon?

Redwagon is creating the world’s first AI Capital Project Engineer - deployable for the teams building the critical infrastructure that powers human life across chemicals, energy, industrials, semiconductors, pharma, data centers, and more.

Our goal is to drive the time it takes to build the physical world around us to zero - going from idea to built reality at the press of a button.

Background

Complex projects - sometimes reaching into the billions of dollars in total installed cost - run on complex documents, datasets and workflows, causing deployment delays, and slowing the progress of human advancement. At Redwagon we’re setting out to solve this problem - but with a different approach. We’re not a platform and we’re not a tool. We’re fundamentally rethinking how to build physical infrastructure - starting at the most atomic level, and automating capital project engineering based on data grounded in truth, and accuracy - allowing our customers to build the physical world faster than anyone ever thought possible, and drive massive revenue growth.

We’re building a world where any company can hire a team of Redwagon engineers - each one with an equivalent 350 years of experience and who have completed thousands of projects across the industrial sector - and deploy them within their existing workflows, on their existing technology stack.

Today, we’re partnering with world-class organizations across EPC, asset owners, and contractors in the complex capital project sector.

The Role

You'll join as a member of the founding team to help build the core platform from the ground up. What you build will be immediately deployed with top tier companies who build the physical infrastructure on which the world runs.

The problems are difficult. A single capital project produces tens of thousands of pages of drawings, datasheets, and specs, and one missed detail can mean millions lost, or years delayed on a project. Your systems have to get it right with real traceability. You'll make foundational technical decisions and ship code to production weekly. The work you will do will have a direct line to how fast novel technologies, chemical plants, climate tech, data centers, and energy facilities get built. You'll report directly to the CEO.

What you will do

• Own Redwagon's AI systems end to end: architecture, data, models, and the path to production.
• Make messy project data usable. Turn thousands of drawings, datasheets, and specs into information that engineers and agents can rely on, and catch errors before they reach a customer.
• Put agents to work on real engineering tasks. Build the evals that define "correct" against real project data, and own the reliability of the complete workflow.
• Work directly with engineers at customer organizations, learn how their projects actually run, and ship against what you find within tight ideate, experiment, iterate, and implement cycles.
• Make foundational technical decisions with the founding team that will shape the platform for years.
• Help hire, mentor, and lead the engineers who come next.
• Build a strong, supportive, and inclusive culture.

What you bring

• Expertise in agentic systems: agent harnesses, orchestration, and tuning, training, and evaluating language models
• You've shipped these systems to production and can walk through what broke and what you changed.
• Strong Python, and strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and system design.
• Judgment about tradeoffs. You know when a task calls for a frontier model, a smaller tuned model, or plain deterministic code. You weigh accuracy, latency, and cost against the problem in front of you rather than chasing the best theoretical solution, and you apply the same judgment to storage, compute, and architecture.
• Good build-vs-buy instincts. You account for maintenance cost and scaling complexity, not just time to a first version.
• Interest in training custom models, and the drive to get fluent fast.

How you work

• You need to understand why a system behaves the way it does, not just that it works. When something goes wrong, you trace it back to the cause.
• You use the best available tools, whether that's Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Antigravity, or whatever comes next. You adopt new tools quickly when they help you move faster.
• You learn new domains quickly and without ego. You're comfortable being wrong, asking questions, and updating your understanding in real time. You'll need this, because this domain is deep.
• You can take an ill-defined problem, break it down, and ship a working solution.
• You want to move fast.

Bonus

• Expertise in knowledge representation, machine learning, or document parsing
• Experience with GCP; TypeScript and Next.js; FastAPI and Pydantic; deploying into customer-controlled or security-sensitive environments
• Capital projects, process engineering, or manufacturing experience
• Leadership/team management experience

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range is $120,000 to $200,000 depending on qualifications and experience. For truly exceptional candidates at the senior or staff level, we may be willing to exceed the posted range. Selected candidates can expect to receive 0.1% to 2% equity. Vesting schedule is a 12-month cliff and 4-year monthly vesting. We also offer a 401(k) plan and the opportunity to shape the full benefits package as a founding team member.
