About this role
Job Description Summary Join us in a high-impact role where you’ll build the next generation of automation and AI solutions that transform how engineering gets work done. This is a chance to work at the intersection of software development, digital engineering, and advanced integration—delivering scalable capabilities across platforms like Teamcenter, NX, Cameo, and cloud-based environments. If you’re energized by solving complex technical problems, partnering with cross-functional teams, and turning bold ideas into real business outcomes, this role offers the opportunity to shape both today’s tools and tomorrow’s vision.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
-
Process Redefinition & Transformation
-
Partner with engineering and product development teams to map current-state workflows, identify bottlenecks, and define AI-native future-state processes
-
Lead and support process redefinition efforts that rethink how engineering work gets done, rather than simply automating existing steps
-
Identify, prioritize, and build the business case for automation and AI opportunities based on measurable impact (productivity, cycle time, quality, etc.)
-
Define multigenerational capability roadmaps that balance near-term wins with a long-term digital engineering vision
-
Engineering Partnership & Adoption
-
Embed with engineering teams to co-develop and validate solutions, ensuring tools fit how engineers actually work
-
Work with enterprise and Edison Works teams to establish the support infrastructure needed to enable and sustain new capabilities
-
Drive change management and adoption through training, documentation, and ongoing support for engineering users
-
Balance delivery speed, quality, and sustainability of tools to support business outcomes at business pace
-
AI Integration & Solution Delivery
-
Integrate AI and automation capabilities into engineering toolchains (Teamcenter, NX, Cameo, Ansys, etc.) and the broader digital thread
-
Evaluate and apply AI technologies (generative AI, agents, ML models) to engineering use cases, guiding build vs. buy vs. leverage decisions
-
Guide the design, development, and deployment of automation and AI tools using Agile, SDLC, and CI/CD practices, contributing hands-on development where needed
-
Work with Information Assurance (IA) and Digital Technology (DT) teams to deploy and sustain tools in classified environments
-
Establish metrics to track solution performance and business impact, and drive continuous improvement
-
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or similar from an accredited university or college
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, digital technologies or other technical field
-
Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship
-
Experience with digital transformation and / or AI-native process redefinition, preferably with a focus on product development or manufacturing
-
Desired Characteristics
-
AI & Data: Working knowledge of AI/ML and generative AI tools and frameworks (e.g., LLMs, agents, PyTorch, scikit-learn), and of data integration concepts, databases (SQL/NoSQL), APIs, and web services
-
Software & Cloud: Proficiency in scripting and programming (Python, Java, C++, SQL) and familiarity with modern development practices, including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and AWS or other cloud environments
-
Engineering Tools: Background with engineering tools and their data structures and APIs, including PLM (Teamcenter), CAD (NX), Systems Engineering (Cameo), and analysis (Ansys)
-
Digital Engineering: Understanding of digital engineering processes, particularly CAD workflows and engineering analysis, with experience leading digital transformation in engineering or manufacturing
-
Process & Requirements: Ability to map business processes, capture requirements, and scope technical solutions
-
Collaboration & Communication: Effective communicator with technical and non-technical audiences who works well in cross-functional teams and influences stakeholders
