About the Role Join AIG as an A&H Travel Complex Adjuster responsible for handling and investigating complex claims for Travel, Personal Accident, Cancer and Income Protection. You will develop technical and soft skills to enable accurate assessment and reserving, promote best practice across the A&H book, and support the Team Manager while acting as a referral point and championing compliant claims handling.
What You'll Do
- Handle and investigate all complex claims for Travel, Personal Accident, Cancer and Income Protection allocated in accordance with internal service levels, best practice requirements, and policy conditions.
- Develop and maintain technical and soft skills to enable accurate assessment and reserving of complex travel, temporary total disablement and permanent disablement and fatal accident claims, within specified guidelines and authority limits.
- Promote compliance with best practice for all aspects of claims assessment for travel and personal accident across Leisure, Worksite and Corporate policies.
- Provide ongoing support to the Team Manager and act as a referral point for colleagues, disseminating learning.
- Monitor market/industry practices in claims handling and update the team in a timely manner.
- Build relationships with internal and external customers, acting as a point of referral.
- Act as Complaints Champion for A&H Claims; proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims and manage in line with fraud guidelines using approved suppliers; encourage use of Key Fraud Indicators.
- Assist in maintaining procedural guides and training of less experienced staff.
- Focus on revitalising best practice standards including Treating Customers Fairly and Fraud Management; review processes and propose updates where appropriate.
- Project a positive image of the Claims Department, leading by example.
