About the Role UNH Extension is seeking an Agriculture & Horticulture Outreach Specialist to advance the organization's mission of delivering trusted research-based information to New Hampshire farmers, businesses and citizens. The role focuses on developing and sharing resources—workshops, fact sheets, programs—and providing on-site consultations and diagnostics to support sustainable agricultural practices.
What You'll Do
- Deliver outreach programming through workshops, fact sheets, programs, and on-site consultations to NH farmers, businesses, and citizens.
- Provide pest, plant, and soil diagnostics support and interpretation of results.
- Develop educational resources, materials, and digital content to expand access.
- Collaborate with UNH Extension teams and partners to strengthen connections and advance well-being in agricultural communities.
- Represent UNH Extension at events, field days, and webinars to engage diverse audiences.

- Interest in agriculture, horticulture, and extension education.
- Strong written and verbal communication and teaching skills.
- Ability to work with diverse audiences including farmers, businesses, and community organizations.
- Knowledge of pest, plant, and soil diagnostics and related resources.
- Commitment to outreach, education, and public service in line with UNH Extension's mission.
Nice to Have
- Experience with diagnostic services, pest management, or soil science.
- Experience in delivering programming or events in agricultural settings.
- Ability to work in New Hampshire climate and communities.
