Join us to help solve today’s most complex retirement challenges and make a lasting impact on our customers’ lives.

The Opportunity

The Senior Agile Project Manager will be responsible for facilitating and executing large-scale RIS projects through the application of Agile practices that guide cross-functional business, operations, and service teams to success. This requires owning and driving discussions and documentation for each project that covers the problems to solve, the scope of deliverables, project plans, roles and responsibilities, and operational processes captured in process maps and standard operating procedures. In addition, they help teams weigh tradeoffs and adjust priorities as new insights emerge, including accounting for cross-functional project team capacity.

This role has the accountability to use and teach Agile methodologies as a way to improve how work gets delivered and for building new skills, capabilities and best practices in RIS that accelerate the collective impact on the top and bottom line.

To succeed in the role, the candidate must demonstrate intellectual curiosity, an experimentation mindset, and the ability to bring clarity to complex and/or ambiguous challenges. This role also requires strong partnership and collaboration with cross-functional partners, e.g., business, operations and service, technology, contracts, finance, legal, risk, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Agile Project Manager for end-to-end execution of large-scale, strategic, business initiatives across RIS and supporting functions, driving delivery from intake and planning through implementation and business adoption.

  • Lead project execution by developing delivery plans, managing dependencies, facilitating decision-making, driving accountability, and proactively removing roadblocks to ensure successful outcomes. Provide clear and timely executive communications, including project status, risks, issues, dependencies, and recommendations to RIS leadership and key stakeholders.

  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration among Business, Operations, Legal, Finance, Investments, IT, fostering agile ways of working and leading discussions that balance priorities, resources, risks, and timelines. Build strong relationships and develop a deep understanding of RIS products, customers, operational processes, and strategic objectives to effectively influence outcomes and drive delivery.

  • Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to define problem statements, evaluate operational solutions, and implement process improvements that enhance controls, efficiency, and business outcomes. Develop process maps, operating procedures, project documentation, and governance materials to support sustainable implementation and operational readiness.

  • Support portfolio management activities, including intake, scoping, prioritization, capacity planning, and measurement of business value to ensure focus on the highest-impact initiatives.

  • Required Qualifications

  • 2-4 years relevant business experience in project management.

  • Understanding of the Agile manifesto and the four key values. In-depth familiarity with Agile delivery frameworks, such as the dynamic systems development method (DSDM) approach, along with Agile methods and tools.

  • Ability to lead initiatives from kickoff through execution and evaluation of success, with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate cross-functional teams — including business, technology, and operations — to gain buy-in and drive results.

  • Dynamic, customer-centric mindset with strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills, a strategic emphasis on driving value while balancing costs and risks, and the ability to deconstruct complex problems into actionable plans grounded in first principles

  • Ability to use approved AI tools to support routine tasks such as drafting, summarizing, organization information, and improving day-to-day efficiency.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or higher.

  • Project Management Certification (e.g. Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)), ideally with a PMI Agile Certified Practitioner distinction.

  • Experience leading complex, multi-functional teams within a highly matrixed environment, with a background in annuities, reinsurance, or life insurance operations and an understanding of finance and investment processes.

  • Location Expectation: This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 3 days per week in office.

  • The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 - $120,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
