The Role

As Agentic Architect at Kyndryl, you will have the opportunity to work with some of the world’s most innovative and dynamic companies, helping them achieve their business objectives through strategic technology implementation. You will be responsible for connecting our clients' business needs with their technology (IT) strategy, using different architectural models and perspectives to create a clear vision of how to meet their requirements in an agile, sustainable, and flexible way. To excel in this role, you will need to understand client needs and constraints and apply industry knowledge and best practices to develop effective technological solutions. In addition to your technical capabilities, you will need excellent communication skills, the ability to influence clients, and the ability to convey the value of our solutions through your knowledge of cutting-edge technologies and your understanding of their business and industry.

Who You Are

Mission

• Design agentic development harnesses (Claude Code and other coding agents) that convert agents into governed and auditable software factories.
• Architect multi-agent agentic applications on client enterprise stacks, from design to production.

Responsibilities

• Design harnesses: hooks, skills, sub-agents, permissions, context, quality gates and traceability.

• Define the intent → spec → plan → diff chain and its controls (evals, tests, human review).

• Multi-agent architectures with LangGraph (state, checkpointing, interrupts, orchestration) and integration via MCP.

• Evaluation strategy in LangSmith: golden datasets, evals as pipeline gates, regressions.

• Observability, cost and security of agents (prompt injection, guardrails, AI Act).

• Apply the harness to migration: specs from legacy code and regeneration of applications.

• Reference architectures, ADRs, mentorship and pre-sales support.

• Must-haves

• 8+ years in software engineering/architecture, 2+ with LLM systems in production.

• Coding agents (Claude Code, Codex CLI or similar) configured and governed for teams, not just individual use.

• LangGraph/LangChain at the architectural level; advanced Python.

• MCP: server design and permission model.

• Evals and LLM observability (LangSmith, Langfuse or equivalent).

• Model APIs from frontier providers and tool-use patterns (Anthropic, OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Vertex).

• Enterprise architecture basics: Azure/GCP, Kubernetes/OpenShift, CI/CD.

• Interaction with CTOs and client architects; professional English.

• Desirable

• Platform engineering / IDPs and agents in existing pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

• Other agent frameworks (OpenAI Agents SDK, Google ADK, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel).

• Vector stores and retrieval; regulated environments (banking, healthcare, public sector).
