About the Role Advanced Manufacturing Controls Engineer for PPG's Aerospace business, based in Valencia, CA or Mojave, CA. This onsite/Hybrid role focuses on developing and implementing innovative controls solutions across diverse chemical manufacturing processes within the Aerospace SBU, reporting to the Global Project Director, Aerospace Materials. What You'll Do
- Participating as a team member in Front End Engineering, Design and Installation, including documentation for multiple projects and providing technical support to Engineers, Operators and Technical resources.
- Develop RFQs, SOWs and directly manage vendors/contractors; plan and execute projects; direct workflow reviews and coordinate equipment installation.
- Field leadership of employees and contractors, promoting teamwork and driving on-time and on-budget project delivery.
- Create project and process documentation, including SOPs, operations manuals and training materials.
- Assist with capital budgeting and fiscal control, justifying ROA/ROE/ROI; manage bid process and cost reduction strategies.
- Lead implementation of aerospace strategic MES/SCADA across the SBU; select hardware/software and ensure up-to-date, standardized MES/SCADA across facilities; develop real-time metrics displays. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Software, Manufacturing, Engineering, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Engineer programming PLCs.
- Travel up to 50%; ability to work onsite in Valencia or Mojave, CA.
- Experience with GE Proficy, Rockwell Automation, Siemens OpCenter or similar integration systems; PLC knowledge; Allen Bradley preferred.
- Knowledge of PLCs and real-time manufacturing control systems. Nice to Have
- Aerospace/Multi-site manufacturing experience; strong documentation and SOP writing; capital budgeting or ROI analysis. Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $140,000 – $160,000 per year, with potential annual bonus up to 10% of base salary.
