Minimum requirements:

  • Education: A completed first level university degree or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree) in Journalism, Political Science, Communications, International Relations and any other related fields is required.
  • Work

Experience

  • At least two (2) years of experience in advocacy, communications or campaigning, at a national, regional or global level is required.
  • Experience in supporting the development of clear theories of change, with specific, measurable and timebound objectives and performance indicators is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting and/or managing projects to completion, including developing and implementing clear processes, and budget management is required.
  • Experience in digital communications and managing online platforms and channels is required.
  • Experience in supporting the effective functioning of a team is required.
  • Knowledge of children’s rights, public policy, international development, and humanitarian issues.
  • Skills: Ability to manage and monitor projects effectively, ensuring timely delivery and achievement of objectives.
  • Ability to develop and implement digital communication strategies and content across relevant channels.
  • Proficiency in managing digital platforms and online communication channels.
  • Language

Requirements

  • Proficiency in French and intermediate level of English are required.

Desirables:

  • Language: Proficiency in Créole and knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.

  • Experience working for an advocacy or campaigning organization e.g. national or international NGO, UN or other multilateral organization is an asset.

  • Experience in supporting training and facilitation is an asset.

  • Experience working in a developing and emergency environment is an asset.

  • Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.

  • This position has been assessed as an elevated risk role for Child Safeguarding purposes as it is either a role with direct contact with children, a role that works directly with identifiable children's data, a safeguarding response role, or an assessed risk role.
