About this role

About the Role Autoliv is seeking an Advanced Project Buyer - Steering Wheels to manage purchasing activities for steering wheel projects, partnering with Segment Buyers and Project teams, and ensuring pricing targets, supplier capacity, PPAP readiness and cross-functional delivery to support safety-critical components.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the decision to select and launch new benchmarks in line with the Regional/Global Segment Manager strategy, in partnership with Segment Buyer.
  • Represent the department in Project Platforms, tracking defined indicators/targets/objectives.
  • Estimate component prices for projects and drive target pricing via the supplier nomination process.
  • Verify supplier capacity for series production through capacity checks according to project volumes.
  • Identify carryover milestones with non-preferred suppliers or high-costs; propose supplier/price improvements to reduce raw material costs.
  • Ensure PPAP parts and documentation are delivered on time.
  • Actively participate in development of new components or serial modifications with Project Supplier Quality and Design Engineer.
  • Maintain professional relationships with suppliers and prepare for supplier meetings.
  • Contribute to team functioning and delivery of individual and team tasks.
  • Generate VE/VA ideas to facilitate cost reductions in new projects and series production.
  • Communicate project requirements to Segment teams and coordinate all activities per project plan (Timing, Cost, Quality).
  • Track actions and milestones; contribute to lessons learned; coordinate with cross-functional teams.

What We're Looking For

  • APQP/PPAP experience; AS100/AS007 application.
  • Teamwork orientation and ability to work across cultures.
  • Organized, agile, committed and motivated.
  • Basic purchasing principles.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel; cost analysis skills.
  • Fluent in English.
  • University degree.
  • Willingness to travel.

  • Proven track record in a similar role (optional).
  • Flexibility towards other region’s time zones.
