About the Role The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine's Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for its Generalist Division. This 100% clinical role supports care for an underserved population in clinic locations throughout the greater Cincinnati area, collaborating with OB/GYN generalist physicians to deliver comprehensive and trauma-informed care.
What You'll Do
- Work collaboratively with OB/GYN generalist physicians and provide comprehensive, continuous, and personalized care to patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests.
- Monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
- Prescribe necessary treatment and services for quality patient care.
- Perform office-based procedures within the scope of practice.
- Collaborate with other providers and members of the health care team in delivery of care and make appropriate referrals when needed.
- Align care delivery with public health priorities through strategic partnership with local community health organizations.
- Educate patients and families about medical conditions and treatment plans.
- Facilitate staff, patient, and family decision making using evidence-based practice.
- Participate in education of nurse practitioners, nurse practitioner students, residents, and medical students.
- Perform history and physical examinations in the outpatient setting; write progress notes and narrative discharge summaries.
- Maintain accurate medical records, and complete in a timely fashion per department standards.
- Seek the consult of supervising physicians when needed and participate in case/chart review.
- Participate in quality and safety initiatives.
- Complete all trainings in a timely fashion.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.

What We're Looking For
- Nurse Practitioner: Education — Master’s degree in nursing and graduation from an ANA approved Nurse Practitioner Program; Licensure/Certification — Active Ohio APRN license with prescriptive authority; Board Certification — Active Board Certification in an appropriate nursing specialty; Experience — Three (3) years nursing experience (additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty).
- OR Physician’s Assistant: Education — Master’s Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program; Licensure/Certification — Active Ohio Physician Assistant license with prescriptive authority; Certification — NCCPA certification; Experience — Additional related work experience may be required depending on specialty/sub-specialty.
