About the Role Exciting opportunity to join Endeavor Health in the cardiac ICU. The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality, appropriate, and cost-effective critical care to patients in the Cardiac ICU, with a primary focus on post–cardiac surgery and complex cardiovascular disease. What You'll Do
- Provide care to patients in the cardiac ICU under the direction of the collaborating physician.
- Obtain detailed history, perform physical exams, order imaging, labs, and diagnostic procedures, and interpret results.
- Instruct patients on prescribed therapies and pre/post-operative instructions.
- Maintain records and write progress notes; follow patients through hospital course.
- Collaborate with physicians and health care team to achieve optimal outcomes; prescribe pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies as appropriate.
- Demonstrate evidence-based practice; participate in development and evaluation of standards of practice.
- Assess learning needs of patients and families; provide education and strategies to promote health.
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, formulate differential diagnoses, and prescribe treatments under protocol in management of acute and chronic illness.
- Work autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams; contribute to safety and high-quality patient experience.
- Contribute to service line goals and support organizational strategic plan; adhere to Endeavor Health policies. What We're Looking For
- License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensure in Illinois; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substances license required.
- Education: Master’s level program in specialty area.
- Certification: BLS/CPR; ACLS certification.
- Experience: Critical care experience as an APP preferred; willingness to consider new graduate ACNPs with prior critical care RN experience. Nice to Have
- Experience in cardiac ICU with complex cardiovascular disease states; ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays with shift differentials.
- Integration into a 22-bed Cardiac-Neuro ICU co-located with Neuro ICU. Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly pay range: $61.22 - $85.71 per hour (prn: $70/hour)
- Inpatient role with night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM; weekends/holidays required with differential
