ADP Payroll Consultant
3 Month Contract

Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and hard-working Payroll Specialist to join our Payroll team. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multi-state payroll using ADP. This role plays a critical part in maintaining payroll accuracy, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and serving as a trusted resource for payroll-related inquiries. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Human Resources, Finance, and business leaders to ensure employees are paid accurately and on schedule.
Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Administration
-
Process bi-weekly payrolls using ADP.
-
Review and validate payroll inputs, including:
-
New hires
-
Terminations
-
Compensation changes
-
Bonuses
-
Commissions
-
One-time payments
-
Maintain employee payroll records and direct deposit information.
-
Administer garnishments, tax levies, and court-ordered deductions.

Payroll Accuracy & Reconciliation
-
Audit payroll data for accuracy prior to submission.
-
Review payroll registers and gross-to-net calculations.
-
Reconcile payroll reports, tax withholdings, benefits deductions, and other payroll-related data.

Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries in a timely manner.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Partner with Human Resources to ensure employee data changes are accurately reflected in payroll systems.

Collaborate with Finance on payroll journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting activities.

Support business leaders by providing payroll-related guidance and assistance.

Compliance & Process Improvement
-
Ensure compliance with payroll tax regulations, wage and hour laws, and company policies.

Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and audit preparation.

Develop, document, and maintain payroll procedures, controls, and best practices.
Qualifications
-
Required Experience
-
3+ years of payroll processing experience.
-
Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems.
-
Experience processing multi-state payrolls.
-
Knowledge & Skills
-
Strong understanding of payroll taxes, wage and hour laws, and payroll compliance requirements.

Advanced Excel skills, including:

VLOOKUPs

Pivot Tables

Data reconciliation and analysis

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
