Job title: Admitting Worker, Principal
About the Role Under the supervision of the Admission and Registration Supervisor and in collaboration with the Patient Care Unit Manager, the Principal Admitting Worker is generally assigned a primary work unit but may rotate to other areas as outlined in the Admitting Department Expectations. The role focuses on greeting patients, confirming identity, check-in, and registering patients, and coordinating escort upon arrival for services and/or after triage by the nurse. The registration process includes gathering financial and demographic information, cash handling, and entering data into the computer system quickly and accurately. The Principal Admitting Worker must provide superior customer service and maintain a high degree of professionalism, utilizing hospital information systems to communicate with patients and visitors and respond to inquiries.
What You'll Do
- Greet patients and verify identification
- Conduct check-in and patient registration
- Coordinate escort upon arrival for services and after triage
- Collect financial and demographic information and process cash
- Enter data quickly and accurately into hospital information systems
- Provide superior customer service and maintain professionalism
- Communicate effectively with patients and visitors using hospital information systems
- Adhere to Medical Center Policies and Procedures
