About the Role Under the supervision of the Patient Access Services Manager, the Admitting Worker greets patients, confirms identities, checks in and registers them, and coordinates escort upon arrival for services. The role involves gathering demographic and financial information and entering it into the hospital computer systems quickly and accurately, with duties including cash collection and posting as appropriate. The Admitting Worker provides excellent customer service and adheres to Medical Center Policies and Procedures while utilizing hospital information systems to communicate with patients and respond to inquiries.
What You'll Do
- Greet patients, verify identity, check-in and register for services.
- Coordinate escort upon arrival and manage patient flow.
- Collect and post payments; handle cash as appropriate.
- Gather demographic and financial information and input into computer systems accurately.
- Use hospital information systems to communicate with patients and visitors and respond to inquiries.
- Maintain professionalism and comply with Medical Center Policies and Procedures.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Prior experience in healthcare, insurance-related, or comparable.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow instructions; work quickly and accurately.
