About the Role The Office of Admissions at Thiel College is seeking a full-time, energetic professional to serve as an undergraduate Admissions Counselor. The role focuses on recruiting a high-quality, diverse student body and articulating the value of Thiel's liberal arts education to prospective students and families. What You'll Do
- Recruit prospective students by conducting high school visits and attending college fairs in the designated territory.
- Increase applications and deposit activity by cultivating relationships within the territory and accurately forecasting enrollment to meet goals.
- Develop in-depth knowledge about Thiel College's academic and extracurricular programs and articulate these programs in alignment with the College's value proposition to prospective students, families, counselors and the community.
- Process applications for traditional first-year students and conduct credential evaluations to inform admission decisions.
- Advise students and families on admission requirements, financial aid, cost of attendance, and scholarship information.
- Demonstrate excellent public speaking skills in presentations and information sessions.
- Meet departmental goals for inquiries, applications, admitted and enrolled students through the completion, review and conversion of applications for the designated territory.
- Travel extensively, including evenings, overnight stays and weekends during travel season; evening phone calls are required.
- Assist with the daily operations of the Office of Admission through presentations, interviews with prospective students, on/off-campus events, orientation days, as well as email, social media and phone campaigns.
- Perform additional duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Previous experience in college admissions preferred.
- Well-developed public speaking, presentation, communication and organizational skills required.
- Professional work experience in sales/promotional/public relations or related field preferred with proven ability to meet goals.
- The successful candidate will possess excellent public speaking and demonstrated attention to detail, follow-through, and dependability.
