Jarvis Christian University seeks an energetic, motivated, and student-centered Admissions Counselor to recruit, advise, and enroll prospective students. The Admissions Counselor serves as a primary representative of the University and is responsible for developing relationships with prospective students, families, high schools, community colleges, churches, and community organizations.
This position requires extensive travel throughout Texas and surrounding regions to represent the University at college fairs, high school visits, community events, church gatherings, and recruitment programs. The Admissions Counselor guides students through the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment and plays a critical role in achieving institutional enrollment goals.
The successful candidate must be willing to work frequent evenings and weekends to support recruitment activities, campus events, orientations, and enrollment initiatives.
- Serve as the primary admissions contact for prospective students and families.
- Counsel students regarding admissions requirements, academic programs, financial aid opportunities, scholarships, housing, student life, and enrollment procedures.
- Evaluate student records and provide guidance regarding admissions eligibility.
- Assist students in navigating the admissions process from inquiry to enrollment.
- Educate students and families about the benefits and opportunities available at Jarvis Christian University.
Application Processing and Data Management
- Process applications and supporting admissions documents in accordance with university policies and procedures.
- Review applicant files for completeness and accuracy.
- Maintain accurate records of all student interactions and recruitment activities.
- Perform data entry and update student records within the University's Student Information System (SIS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.
- Generate recruitment reports and maintain documentation of recruitment activities.
- Assist with enrollment tracking and yield management initiatives.
