About the Role Based in the Bay Area, SEIU Local 1021 Administrative / Operations Coordinator provides senior administrative support to meet Together We Rise goals and to support the transformation of the Local. This role handles confidential support to local management and may lead special projects and supervise clerical staff as needed. What You'll Do

  • Provide administrative and operational support to union leadership and staff to advance the Local’s mission.
  • Prepare presentation materials, correspondence, forms, newsletters, flyers, and reports; support designated committees and workgroups; maintain regular communications with workers in assigned jurisdictions.
  • Ensure effective meetings, sound fiscal practices, and good internal communication; arrange staff travel and provide logistical support.
  • Serve as administrative support for designated committees and workgroups; provide onsite coordination during meetings and events; back up other administrative staff during vacations/absences.
  • Accurately review, enter, and audit data into Unionware for tracking membership, contract management, grievances and organizing campaigns.
  • Lead/mentor assigned staff to increase capacity; identify and promote new processes or procedures for efficiency.
  • Coordinate recruiting processes (initial interviews, in-person interviews, reference checks); prepare interview materials and provide onsite coordination during interviews.
  • Assist in labor union activities such as encouraging non-members to become members by assisting with new member sign up and COPE campaigns.
  • Manage facilities responsibilities, such as vendor relations, equipment repairs, and security system needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree or High School diploma with equivalent experience; minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience.
  • Familiarity with a multi-office, organizational environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite; excellent English grammar and spelling; accurate typing skills over 65 words per minute.
  • Outstanding data entry skills; must be accurate, timely, detail oriented, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to be an organizational leader and develop staff; set a strong example for work expectations and organizational commitment.
  • Excellent punctuality and attendance; strong project management, organizational, prioritization, and follow-through skills; ability to manage large volumes of electronic data.
  • Highly motivated and able to adapt to a fast-paced work environment; excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to interact professionally with culturally and linguistically diverse staff.
  • Driving requirements: valid California driver's license; DMV check; good driving record; business auto insurance; vehicle for business use. Core Competencies

  • Salary range: $45.54 – $50.96 per hour, based on qualifications and experience.
