Job title: Administrative Assistant I - II
About the Role The Administrative Assistant I - II provides clerical support to the assigned department, performing computer-based tasks, maintaining files, records, reports, and other documents, and assisting with special projects. This onsite role in New Caney, TX may require after-hours outage support and training responsibilities, and involves handling confidential data with discretion.
What You'll Do
- Perform all phases of computer-based clerical support for the department.
- Create and maintain files, records, reports, maps, charts, and other documents.
- Operate standard office equipment and use company computer programs and terminal applications.
- Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism during stressful conditions with internal and external customers.
- Create and assist with special projects including sensitive and confidential data.
- Provide support for outage restorations during scheduled and non-scheduled hours as required.
- Learn company policies, procedures and department responsibilities; train personnel regarding departmental functions and policies.
- Exercise independent decision-making and check the work of others.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- General knowledge of clerical work; familiarity with all phases of work; knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in use of company computer programs and terminal applications.
- Good analytical skills; ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Knowledge of company organizational operations; qualify for vehicle operator’s license.
- Successful completion of the EEI SASS test will be required.
- This is a Safety Sensitive position and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Travel up to 25%.

- Compensation: hourly, rate not disclosed; nonexempt (eligible for overtime).
