Job title: Admin Asst I - II
About the Role Administrative Assistant I - II position based in Port Allen, LA, onsite. Supports department with clerical duties, file management, and special projects, including sensitive data; may provide outage restoration support during scheduled and unscheduled hours.
What You'll Do
- Work under minimal supervision and plan/layout work details.
- Perform all phases of computer-based clerical support for the department.
- Create and maintain files, records, reports, maps, charts, and other documents.
- Operate standard office equipment and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Create and assist with special projects including handling sensitive and confidential data.
- Provide support for outage restorations (including out of town) during scheduled and non-scheduled hours as required.
- Learn company policies and department responsibilities; train personnel on departmental functions and policies.
- Exercise independent decision-making and check the work of others; adhere to established departmental policies.
- Travel up to 25% may be required.
- This role is designated as Safety Sensitive and is subject to mandatory pre-employment and random drug testing.
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- General knowledge of clerical work; familiar with all phases of work.
- Some knowledge of utility operations practices and regulations.
- Good verbal and written communication skills; proficient in company computer programs and terminal applications.
- Strong analytical skills to review documents related to payroll, budget, or other items for the supervisor.
- Ability to work under stressful conditions.
- Knowledge of company organizational operations for the assigned group.
- Qualify for vehicle operator’s license.
- Willingness to travel up to 25%.
- SASS testing: SASS test recommended; EEI SASS testing may apply; pre-employment drug testing required as part of Safety Sensitive designation.
