About the Role Liberty University’s School of Education seeks an Online Adjunct Qualitative Dissertation Chair or Committee Member to support doctoral candidates academically and spiritually. This remote role involves supervising methodologically sound qualitative research, providing detailed feedback, and ensuring compliance with the school dissertation handbook and university policies.
What You'll Do
- Supervise doctoral candidates conducting qualitative research and ensure methodological rigor.
- Provide detailed, actionable feedback specific to qualitative methods.
- Maintain regular communication with candidates to support timely progress and adherence to university policies.
- Serve as an online chair or committee member for dissertation work, inclusive of remote collaboration and assessment.
What We're Looking For
- EdD or PhD in Education from an accredited institution.
- Full doctrinal compatibility with Liberty University and alignment with its Christian worldview.
- Demonstrated expertise in qualitative research.
- Proficiency in MS Office and Canvas; strong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with creative, innovative, and problem-solving skills.
- Teaching license (if applicable) and willingness to provide mentoring in research methods.
- Pastoral reference letter from current church (dated within 6 months) and two professional reference letters.
Nice to Have
- Established record of peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
- Experience mentoring capstone, dissertation, or thesis projects and teaching research methods online with platforms like Canvas.
- Ability to pace work to avoid delays in doctoral completion.
Compensation & Benefits
- Courses are typically paid at $800 per load hour.
