Applicants to this position will be considered for a candidate pool encompassing one or more of the subject areas outlined in the job description. This pool will be used to identify qualified candidates for potential appointments during the 2026–2027 academic year.
Salary Range: $31 - $36 hourly (based on course requirements & level of education). This is a temporary, non-benefits eligible role.
Program Description:
Adjunct Faculty for the Pupil Personnel Services School Psychology Program, under the direction of the Program Director of PPS School Psychology, provides instruction, guidance, and support to SOE candidates (students) online via Canvas.
This program prepares students to gain the Pupil Personnel Services (PPS) credential that allows them to practice in California’s schools. The program will be of interest to recent college graduates with bachelor’s degrees, current educators, school personnel and professionals from other related fields.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
- Master’s, Doctoral or other terminal degree from an accredited college or university, depending upon the needs of the course being taught.
Experience

Appropriate experience in the areas(s) of specialization and expertise. At least three (3) years of experience as a School Psychologist. Educational Psychologist through the BBS (LEP), is preferred.

Mentoring and advising of candidates

Holding virtual office hours and conferencing with candidates

Research/scholarship mentoring and supervision, particularly of MA theses, PsyD projects, EdD dissertations
Skills
- Proficient computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- The ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to problem solve.
- The ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms.
- The ability to be flexible with workflow to meet the needs of the department and candidates and to manage multiple tasks per required deadlines.
- The drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable and guide candidates toward task completion.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work as an effective team member and develop trusting relationships with candidates and Alliant employees, as well as the Registrar’s Office and various academic departments.
- Culturally competent and ability to communicate and interact effectively with diverse people.
- Highly motivated, focused and results oriented.
- Ability to exercise discretion and tact in all interpersonal interactions, and to maintain confidentiality.
- Collaboration and partnering with other university stakeholders to support candidate success. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
Supervisory Responsibility:

Direct Reports: Program Director, School Psychology.

Indirect Reports: None.
Contact Responsibility:
-
Internal: Interacts with Program Director to receive support and guidance throughout the instructional term. Main communication is between Adjunct Faculty and currently enrolled candidates.

External: None.
Work Environment:
- This is a fully remote position, with faculty choosing their own environment to teach in.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to execute those physical activities required to perform the essential functions including, but not limited to, regular sitting and being mobile; continual communicating; regular keyboarding; regular reading of both print and digital material; and all other activities required to perform essential functions.
