About the Role

LIU Post is seeking adjunct professors to teach in undergraduate and graduate Nutrition Programs. The role involves instruction, supervision and evaluation of students in classroom and/or laboratory settings, providing instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules. It also includes creating an environment that emphasizes learning, free discussion of ideas and critical thinking, maintaining professional conduct and ethics, and keeping current knowledge in the subject matter. This is a part-time/temporary faculty position.

What You'll Do

• Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum, course outlines and class schedules.
• Prepare a syllabus for each course taught using the college template and post it to the class on the Blackboard site.
• Teach the material in the syllabus and course outline in a professional manner.
• Advise students relative to their academic status or performance.
• Maintain all necessary records for each course taught.
• Maintain current knowledge in the subject matter areas.
• Create and maintain an environment emphasizing learning, encouraging free discussion of ideas and critical thinking, and high standards of professional conduct.
• Fulfill professional responsibilities of a part-time/temporary faculty member.
• Cultivate helpfulness and relationship-building, pursuing best solutions and user-friendly approaches.

What We're Looking For

• Masters in nutrition, dietetics, dietetics and food administration or related field and certification as a registered dietitian nutritionist OR Doctoral degree in nutrition, dietetics, dietetics and food administration, public health, leadership or related field.
• Eligibility to work in the United States (hiring is contingent on this).

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $1,000-$1,350 per credit.
