Description: Nelson American Indian College in Phoenix, AZ, invites applications for an adjunct Professor in Biology/Physical Science. This part-time teaching appointment supports a faith-integrated curriculum affiliated with Nelson University. The role involves teaching assigned courses, contributing to curriculum and spiritual formation within an Assemblies of God institution.

What You'll Do

• Teach courses as assigned by the Dean; courses may be scheduled during day, evening, or Saturdays.
• Prepare syllabi, initiate textbook selection, oversee quality educational experiences for students, evaluate and score student performance via the LMS, and submit final grades per schedule.
• Provide 30 minutes of weekly office hours per course for student consultations.
• Familiarize yourself with the University’s Institutional Policy Manual and adhere to its policies; wear professional attire and begin/end classes on time.
• Engage in instructional and spiritual formation activities with students and staff per University policies; attend department meetings when invited and, optionally, Faculty In-Service and commencement.
• Connect and communicate with Department Chairs on a regular basis.

What We're Looking For

• Academic qualifications commensurate with accreditation criteria; established teaching abilities and strong written and verbal communication skills; knowledge of the subject area.
• Ability to work harmoniously with faculty, staff, administration, and students; adaptable and innovative.
• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited university in biology/physical science or related field, or Master’s degree with at least 18 hours in biology/physical science.
• Ability to communicate effectively across diverse populations in verbal and written expression.
• Faith Commitment: personal faith consistent with Nelson University’s evangelical Christian mission; active participation in a local church; Assemblies of God affiliation preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation is determined according to established pay scales and is based on credentials and teaching assignments.
• Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
