About the Role The MSPAS Program at North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate during the 2025-2026 academic year. The successful candidate will teach one to two MSPAS courses or serve as a lab assistant per semester. The role requires someone who is a board-certified physician assistant (PA-C) or physician (MD), with experience in graduate physician assistant student education. MSPAS faculty associate (adjunct) appointments are on a course-by-course basis. This posting is continuous to develop a qualified pool of interested candidates. If your academic area of interest/expertise meets our programmatic needs at any time, you may be contacted to discuss teaching opportunities. These needs change from semester to semester. The position is a non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointment with no tenure eligibility. The number of courses is contingent upon unit needs, funding, and sufficient enrollment. What You'll Do
- Deliver course content for MSPAS courses and, where needed, serve as a lab assistant per semester.
- Contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments, and evaluate and grade student work.
- Hold office hours to assist students and support their learning.
- Participate in program activities and facilitate an engaging graduate PA education experience. What We're Looking For
- Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in physician assistant studies or MD; Unincumbered Illinois License; All degrees from an accredited institution; terminal degree preferred.
- Appointment requirements: Board-certified PA-C or physician; experience in graduate physician assistant student education; a candidate who can deliver course content and assessments and manage student learning.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior higher education teaching experience; experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions; evidence of working with a diverse student population; evidence of effective collaboration skills; experience with technology/course management systems (e.g. Canvas); excellent written and verbal English communication.

- Salary range for adjuncts in the MSPAS program is USD 2,970 to 15,000. The pay offered will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs. This position is non-benefits eligible. An offer is contingent upon successful completion of the College’s background screening process.
