Job title: Adjunct Pool for Health Sciences
About the Role The Health Science Program at North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate during the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Health Science courses (B.A. or B.S.) one to two per semester, with courses offered in-person or online (synchronous or asynchronous).
What You'll Do
- Teach one to two undergraduate Health Science courses per semester (B.A. or B.S.).
- Deliver course content, contribute to the creation of assignments and other assessments, evaluate and grade student work, and hold office hours to assist students.
- Deliver courses in-person or online (synchronous or asynchronous); adapt to program needs and per-course assignments; participate in course development as requested.
- Review and refer to the program’s course offerings list for opportunities.
What We're Looking For
- Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a concentration in the discipline (with at least 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) at the time of appointment; all degrees from an accredited institution; terminal degree preferred.
- Prior higher education teaching experience preferred.
- Experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions; ability to work effectively with a diverse student population; strong collaboration skills.
- Experience with technology/course management systems; excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Applications will be reviewed as needs arise; pool recruitment will be active throughout the academic year.
- A background check and official transcripts are required prior to employment.

- Additional prior higher education teaching experience; demonstrated adaptability to changing course needs; effective teamwork with colleagues.
Compensation & Benefits
- This is a per-course, part-time, non-benefits eligible, fixed-term appointment; loads do not exceed 8 credit hours, and one course per semester is the norm.
