About the Role North Central College invites applications to teach courses as a faculty associate in the Nutrition Program during the 2025-2026 and 2026-2027 academic years. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate Nutrition Science (B.S.) courses, typically one course per semester but may teach up to two, with responsibilities including delivering content, creating assignments and assessments, evaluating student work, and holding office hours. Appointments are per-course, and the pool is used to fill needs as they arise.

What You'll Do

• Teach undergraduate Nutrition Science (B.S.) courses, typically one course per semester (up to two) as part of a per-course adjunct pool.
• Deliver course content and create assignments and other assessments.
• Evaluate and grade student work and provide timely feedback.
• Hold regularly scheduled office hours to assist students.
• Collaborate with program faculty on course development as needs arise.
• Note: load is up to 8 credit hours per semester; most appointments are one 4-credit course per semester; positions are non-benefits eligible and have no tenure eligibility.

What We're Looking For

• Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or a concentration in the discipline (with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline) at the time of appointment; all degrees from an accredited institution; terminal degree is preferred.
• Applicants should indicate in their cover letter how their professional work experience and/or teaching experiences qualify them to teach in one or more of the following areas: Introductory nutrition concepts; Nutrition and metabolism; Food systems and sustainability; Community nutrition; Clinical nutrition and nutrition counseling; Food service management and leadership.

Nice to Have

• Prior higher education teaching experience preferred.
• Experience facilitating student-led classroom discussions.
• Evidence of working with a diverse student population.
• Evidence of effective collaboration skills.
• Experience with technology/course management systems.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

Compensation & Benefits

• The position is non-benefits eligible, fixed-term, and has no tenure eligibility.
• Appointments are per-course with workloads up to 8 credit hours per semester; typically one 4-credit course per semester.
